Dreaming of building a house, someday, we have to watch every penny we spend pretty closely. But sometimes, something comes along that distracts me from the goal... something beautiful, something functional, but something utterly unnecessary.
This is one such occasion.
I don't mind splurging a little for beauty.
Spotted on Craigslist...
Utterly frivolous.
Utterly gorgeous.
Utterly worth it.
And at $50 for a seven piece silver plated tea set, I could hardly afford not to buy it (right?).
Would you care for a spot of tea?
Do you ever splurge on frivolity? What are your weaknesses?
That's gorgeous! I am the same way when it comes to Craigslist... I usually subscribe to, "a place for everything and everything in its place," but when I get on Craigslist I turn into, "Well I'll find a place for it eventually, I'm sure." :)
ReplyDeleteAgh, Jenn! You're singing my song! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! =D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! =D Totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteHoly wowzers, that's beautiful! And I'm no market genius, but $50 for a silver set like that seems like a very good deal.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Let's see. Driving to Seattle by myself and buying a ticket into the HP movie exhibit... that wound up totaling around $50. (And we won't talk about how much I drool over Alivan's stock. If I weren't trying to be a responsible wife...) Then there are houseplants. I love houseplants, even though the cat tries to shred them and they fill every corner and spare shelf in my house.
Oh, houseplants! I refuse to get started because I know we'd be bankrupt in no time :). Berry bushes on the other hand... ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's probably worth more just for the silver alone...Good buy!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?? I did look up silver plated resale value and unfortunately it is pretty low, although definitely higher than what I paid. Apparently it costs more to separate the metals than the silver is worth, but I prefer to think of it as a great purchase! :)
