"If you were a mouse..."
Any conversation that starts like this gets my attention pretty quickly. I stopped mixing the mashed potatoes and lent an ear to my husband, who was loading up the traps with peanut butter.
"If you were a mouse... would you rather die eating creamy or crunchy?"
I used to think they were cute. But when they ate a hole in my wall and floor, and scampered fearlessly across my bedroom in daylight hours... well... they declared open war.

"Creamy."
Are you a creamy or a crunchy fan? (I actually prefer crunchy, but I was trying to think like a mouse).
Don't forget, the Amazon gift card giveaway entries end tonight!
Mickey and Mighty are cute.
ReplyDeleteMy brother's friend took an Urban Diseases class and, according to her, mice "trickle" urine in very, very small amounts about ever 5 seconds.
Since we found that out, no one in my family has any tolerance for mice in the house.
if it is any consolation though, my brother, who lives in New York City, had a problem with a bold rat last fall.
That said, I'm a creamy fan myself.
Eeew!!! Yeah, that pretty much does it. It's either our health or that of the
ReplyDeletemice... and I think since we're the ones created in the image and likeness of
God, we win. Adios vermin!
And I have actually thought that I'm glad it's mice and not rats.
I like crunchy better, for sure. But for some reason I never buy it! Weird.
ReplyDeleteMice do not like dryer sheets, so start spreading them around the places where they're getting in and put them under your couch and sprinkle them liberally around your bed! We put dryer sheets in the trailer under the sinks and around all of the outside storage areas that can be accessed from the inside. A guy we work with puts dryer sheets in his lake cabin and does not even get mice in the winter. He used to have a real problem with them. Dryer sheets work well, and they make your house smell like fresh laundry. As for the peanut-butter debate--I vote for crunchy for the humans and let the mice eat the creamy stuff.
ReplyDeleteI read that when she wrote it and prayed, "dear Lord, please let that never be
ReplyDeleteme!" I do submit that rats are worse than mice, so I'm counting my blessings.
But yes, I will move if need be ;) (if you wanna start a collection for me like
her pals did, I wouldn't turn it down, hehehe).
Peanut butter and apples were made for each other! :-D
LOL! What a great story! I got a really good laugh out of that one. Thanks for
ReplyDeletesharing it!
"Crunchy for the humans and let the mice eat the creamy stuff" -- LOL, my
ReplyDeletethoughts exactly!
Good to know about the dryer sheets. I think we'll go buy a box tonight and I'll
make a canopy for the bed out of them. I'm having waking nightmares about mice
scurrying over me in my sleep.
