My husband took me out to dinner the day after Christmas. The waitress, who seemed to have a hangover, asked us with a cheerless face and duldrum voice, "Did you survive the holiday?"
Um, yes... yes we did.
There are still 5 more days of the Octave of Christmas, and 9 more days of the liturgical Christmas season.
Don't throw out your tree! Don't lose joy!
Rejoice! Again I say, rejoice!
preach it sistah
ReplyDeleteIsn't Christmas Day always a bit of a let-down, anyway? Just a wee bit? That's why it's good we actually have 40 days of Christmas season to practice joy and get better at prayerful celebration. Of course, the Octave should be the most intense time of this, when we indulge not only in sweets and treats but also in stolen times of prayer and contemplation. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteheck yes! XD we didn't even put our tree up until christmas eve, and it's staying there at least until epiphany!
